Joshua Series Introduction: Christian living through the eyes of an addict

A devotional series on the Christian life, through the book of Joshua from the Old Testament, for guys struggling with porn addiction or habit.

Series Introduction

The book of Joshua is one of my favorites for several years  now.

It started when I picked up this book from Alan Redpath, called “Victorious Christian Living”

The book is about how the book of Joshua is really a picture of what it is like to live as a Christian in the world.

Contradicting the more familiar thought of the Promised Land being a picture of heaven, it brings a greater thoughts of conversion (realizing you cannot attain right living and are in need of the saving provided by Jesus) and of sanctification (being more in alignment with God for the purpose of completing his work).

What you’ll find in this series

This series will be my attempt to look at the story of Joshua, all of the victories and failures in this journey of the Jewish people, from the vantage point of someone who struggles with watching porn, lust and masturbation.

It will be about taking examples in those stories and how we, who struggle, might apply them to our lives.

To be mindful of common things that trip us up.

So that we too, might be encouraged to be “strong and courageous” and to take the land that is no longer our enemy’s.

And find freedom.
